Room choices are not guaranteed. There are a limited amount of single/triple rooms. Finally, your completed application should be submitted as soon as possible for your best opportunity to receive your preferred housing. Students are assigned based on the date their completed application is received.
Incomplete or unanswered questions can affect your on-campus living application status.
Pay the $50 Non-Refundable Application Fee and $150 Security Deposit. Moreover, applications will not be reviewed until payment has been received
Housing application will not be considered complete until the contract is signed through Adobe Sign.
Eligibility: The program targets incoming freshmen who identify as Black/African American/Black American whose depositions and actions personify the program’s three core tenets of being iconic, advocative, and exemplary.
As a component of the program, accepted students will receive room and board as well as participate within a cohort of program specific courses and enrichment activities that will take place during the fall, intersession, and spring semesters. All courses will count towards their respective majors. Furthermore, Maxine McDonald Residential Scholars will engage in fruitful discussions with Fresno State stakeholders such as at-large community members, staff, faculty, and administration who support their matriculation through the university. There are a few quiet halls on-campus for those who prefer a quiet atmosphere. In these halls, quiet hours are earlier than they would usually be. In quiet living areas, quiet hours are observed from 8:00pm to 7:00am, Sunday – Thursday and midnight to 7:00am on Friday and Saturday. The designated quiet halls are: Aspen (Suites), Ponderosa (Suites), and Homan (Community Hall).
